Creating a premium web experience powered by Azure to match ambitious global goals for Insights.

Background & Objectives

Dundee-based Insights Learning and Development is a global leader in people development, with an impressive list of bluechip clients including LinkedIn, Microsoft, the NHS, Pret a Manger, Phillips, and AstraZeneca. Over 4 million people have benefited from insights' unique approach to people development; improving their self-awareness and strengthening their ability to form relationships to become more effective at their jobs.

Insights had an ambitious goal to increase their enquiry rate and double the size of their business by April 2018 and approached Screenmedia to support them with that. To achieve this their website had to raise their profile amid their target audience and generate leads.

Crafting a Premium User Experience

From the outset our brief was clear – to position Insights internationally as a leader in the learning and development industry and as the ideal partner for mid to large size corporations. To meet this brief we worked closely with Insights’ team through a series of discovery workshops to understand their business requirements, unique service propositions, and key service offerings. From this we developed customer personas, allowing us to dive deeper into the needs and goals of their target audiences. It was clear our solution needed not only to have a visually appealing design, but also offer seamless navigation through key journeys and goals to ensure quick resolution and conversion across all devices.

The resulting site focuses on a solution-based proposition, easily directing users through the site to solve their business challenges while still offering the opportunity to supplement knowledge and overcome objections through segmented, logical content hubs.

Insights sought a rich, immersive, and above all premium visual experience which reflected their high standing in the global people development market. We translated their new brand guidelines into a beautiful, flowing design to entice and delight end users.

Powered by Umbraco and Azure

We chose the flexible, scalable and robust CMS, Umbraco 7, which provides content editors and publishers full autonomy over their website content management.

With a globally dispersed target audience, a fast page load speed was crucial for Insights. We chose Microsoft Azure as Insights’ cloud hosting provider, allowing us to create an enhanced infrastructure with multi-region hosting and regional load balancers to deliver vastly improved speeds and maintain a premium experience for all users.

Bespoke technology

Microsoft Dynamics CRM integration

It was critical that all online enquiries be captured seamlessly within Insights’ sales management platform, Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Using Azure Web Jobs we mapped their online enquiry form to Microsoft Dynamics CRM, ensuring that their sales teams never missed an opportunity.

Hubspot integration

To support smooth lead generation campaign planning and management, we implemented customised Hubspot forms to ensure fluid tracking of conversion points, and advanced analytics tracking, to give Insights extensive data over and above standard analytics packages.

Multi-site builder

To support Insights’ web presence in multiple countries, we configured Umbraco to allow multi-site setup using a library of shared code, design, templates, content, and functionality, and added Vorto integration for multilingual support within each site.

Results

Since launch the site has seen a 49% increase in web enquiries, setting Insights well on their way to achieving their ambitious target of doubling in size.

By reinvigorating their site, Insights’ web presence now reflects their standing as a leader in the learning and development industry, offering a superior user experience to prospective and existing customers that matches the quality of their services.
