A visually compelling, multi-lingual website that clearly positions ClientEarth to a global audience.


Our stakeholder workshops form the foundation of any project. Kicking off the project in the early stages of Covid19, we successfully carried out a range of remote workshops using a leading digital collaboration platform called Miro. This was followed by a thorough content and IA audit, simplifying a complex and multi-lingual sitemap, into a streamlined journey for a range of audiences.

Communicating the vision

It was important that the website clearly communicates the strong brand messaging and purpose that sets ClientEarth apart from other charities. To that end, we designed an intro screen for first time users to ensure we quickly communicated their unique proposition; a simple but effective approach to engaging new users with ClientEarth’s core proposition.

Design that scales

The design and site structure is built on a solid foundation of optimised wireframes, providing a smooth user journey whilst navigating the site. To simplify the vast amount of content in the architecture we had to be clever with our navigation design, utilising anchoring and tabbed menus.

Digital style guide

We worked with ClientEarth to build out their digital style guide, creating an engaging and consistent identity for use across all digital channels. From a fresh and contemporary colour palette through to a suite of custom iconography, our aim was to embody the ClientEarth brand throughout.


We used the latest in best practice development technologies to ensure ClientEarth’s global site was robust, secure and scalable to their needs.

Umbraco 8

With the need for multiple sites and multiple languages, we used Umbraco 8 to set up a scalable solution that automatically translates content. This enables ClientEarth to manage multiple websites from a single CMS instance, reducing time spent managing content.

Azure search

The search solution was extremely important to deliver relevant content to the users. Utilising the power and speed of Azure Search, users can dynamically search a range of content from news articles, resources and rich content pages without impacting performance.


ClientEarth are an ambitious charity with an incredible ethos and purpose. Working in close partnership, we have created a website that better reflects the great results and communicates the importance of their work and its impact.

Screenmedia is fostering a long-term partnership with ClientEarth, supporting their future campaigns and wider digital ambitions. The project was a huge accomplishment for us, coming so soon after lockdown, as it proved to our client and to ourselves that remote collaboration would still yield successful results.
