At our 14th birthday bash, the Screenmedia team all headed to a rooftop space on Royal Exchange Square to celebrate another momentous year, recap on all the client wins during the previous 12 months and discover how we’re faring with our 2018 objectives.
Every year, we treat the whole team to a summer barbecue to celebrate their achievements and get everyone together for a night out. It also doubles as an opportunity to communicate our business objectives for the following year, see how far we’ve come in 12 months and gives everyone a chance to celebrate Screenmedia’s birthday together.
The previous year not only saw us expand our team by 16 full-time employees but we also added eight new clients including notable brands like Tetra Pak, Northumbrian Water, Britvic Soft Drinks and SPT. Our Alexa voice skill to promote Channel 4’s Humans showcased real innovation and we built partnerships with Microsoft, Amazon, Zebra and became Umbraco Gold Partners too.
And that’s before mentioning we won the Digital Agency of the Year (again!) at the Herald Awards back in January. It’s been quite a year so far.
This year’s venue offered a rooftop terrace complete with barbecue, and thankfully a marquee where we could shelter from the worst of the Scottish summer weather. Luckily the rain and wind didn’t dampen the enthusiasm for the food, brief speeches and the occasional glass of wine – and rumour has it that the party may have continued past midnight, although this has yet to be independently verified.
Overall, the main objectives were to make sure everyone had a great time and that we all know what we’re striving to achieve for the rest of the year and into 2019, and we definitely did both.
