We’re honoured to have been part of Social Bite’s Sleep In The Park, braving -5°C temperatures and crafting an illustration to commemorate the event.
Homelessness charity Social Bite held their landmark ‘Sleep in the Park’ event in Edinburgh’s Princes Street Gardens in December 2017, inviting members of the public to spend the night in freezing temperatures to raise awareness of homelessness in Scottish cities. Our illustrator Brian braved the coldest night of the year to craft a detailed illustration with sponsors Clydesdale Bank to commemorate the event.
CYBG was a key sponsor of the event, with a large team taking part, and approached Screenmedia to create an illustration to commemorate the night for their staff, as well as present to Social Bite. Over the course of two weeks, Brian worked to create a detailed illustration in his own personal style, striving to capture not just the hardship of the event, but the solidarity of the crowd in their determination to survive the night.
Last week he was delighted to present the illustration to founder Josh Littlejohn, along with CYBG’s Head of Brand Marketing Gerry Magee, who presented CYBG’s huge £500,000 contribution to Social Bite’s mission. This contribution brought the total raised to £4 million.
Having worked with several charities and nonprofits in the past, Screenmedia is delighted to have taken part in the event and to have helped such an inspiring cause, and we would like to thank CYBG for making our participation possible!
