Screenmedia keeps on growing!

Kirstie | 14/09/2017

Screenmedia just keeps on growing! Here are Germán and Kirsty to tell us about what they do, and why they chose to join the Screenmedia team in the latest in our series of new recruit interviews.

Check out parts one and two of our series.

Kirsty - Project Manager

In 140 characters, what exactly do you do?

I work on digital projects start to end while managing timelines, budgets, scope, specifications, and communication with clients.

Previous experience...

I worked at an agency (LevyMcCallum) for a few years as an accounts assistant and a web project manager, working on new website builds and feature enhancements alongside digital marketing campaigns. I then worked at the SEC & SSE Hydro as a project coordinator, where I managed the new website builds for both venues alongside other digital projects.

Why Screenmedia?

I wanted to work somewhere with a big projects team that was moving forward in digital and with a variety of project types. Screenmedia have the reputation of being progressive and tackling exciting new technology projects.

Oddest job…

Pretending to be a guard at an Audi dealership for a campaign night.

On the nightstand…

Kindle, phone, laptop (all the tech)

In my spare time I like…

Being on my phone, getting into new TV series, travelling, drinking beer, and cooking.

Favourite tune on the office Sonos…

Anything but heavy metal.

Weirdest fact about me…

I've eaten guga many times.

Germán - Senior Developer

In 140 characters, what exactly do you do?

I code everything I'm told to (or try to) as a back-end developer.

Previous experience...

I worked as full stack developer in two big consultancy companies, developing web and desktop applications.

Why Screenmedia?

I was a bit tired of big consultancy companies where you're nothing but a number and was looking for something more familiar to enjoy what I do.

Oddest job…

Does being a builder's apprentice count?

On the nightstand…

Kindle, lamp, some programming books, and a stand phone charger.

In my spare time I like…

I'm all about football. I used to play in an amateur league in Spain, but had to give it up a few years ago. I managed a youth team as well. I also love going out for a walk in the countryside, taking my camera with me.

Favourite tune on the office Sonos…

I don't usually even pay attention to music here because spending all day listening and speaking in another language is so tiring I only want to listen to Spanish music!
