Titan Clydebank is a unique visitor experience. The 150ft cantilever crane, built by William Arrol, sits by the site of the old John Brown Shipyards in Clydebank as a symbol of Clydebank's proud industrial heritage.
The view is outstanding and the exhibits are eye opening too. From the audio tour from the Pursor's office, up and along the crane, around the exhibit, then back to the shop and café - it's a great experience.
As part of the visitor attraction developments 2006-2009 Screenmedia won the tender to produce the visitor attraction's new website to promote the tour and to encourage visitors to book online.
Our approach to the site's redesign was to build a contemporary and modern communication tool incorporating large graphic images of the crane alongside elements of flash, animation and interactive functionality. Visitors to the site are encouraged to take a tour of the attraction and its facilities, view an interactive timeline of the cranes history and learn more about the structure in 'Titan Facts'. Further features include educational resources/information, an image gallery and an online booking facility.
As part of the developments, we also produced the audio tour in which Alex Norton (Taggart) recalls the story of the Titan Clydebank and it's part in the building of great ships such as the Queen Mary and the QE2.
A great and inspirational project, with a great design and build to match.
