In this touch-screen interactive Kirsty Wark presents a tour of
Great Glen House, SNH's new headquarters overlooking the city of
Inverness.
Great Glen House was voted BRE's most Sustainable Office
Building 2006 due its uniquely sustainable design that enables SNH
to have a minimal carbon footprint.
The touch screen is built into a bespoke table made from
renewable oak - designed by Nord Architecture. It is situated at
the SNH reception, set in the impressive open space of the
building's Atrium.
From short video presentations by Kirsty Wark, users can delve
deeper into the facts about the building's planning, design,
materials and other green features.
This rich-media design employs new photography, illustrations,
video and animation to bring the building's features to life.
As a multi-platform solution we authored in Flash for
touch-screen then CD-Rom and finally repurposed the piece for
viewing online. The resource is also multi-lingual - users can, at
the flick of a button, change between English and Gaelic).
