Overview
A gorgeous website, rock solid,
with open source CMS.
The Glasgow School of Art, founded in 1845, is internationally
recognised as one of Europe's foremost higher education
institutions for creative education and research into fine art,
design, architecture, and digital technology.
During the summer of 2011, the school was making big plans to
update its digital strategy and at the heart of this was the need
to develop a new, more contemporary website underpinned by modern
technology and flexible content management tools. Afterall, the
school not only needs to attract and appeal to a vast network of
students, staff, investors and other stakeholders, it needs to
deliver a broad spectrum of digital content and communications to
them across their web, mobile, and social spaces too.
This ambitious project saw the complete redevelopment of the art
school's digital presence, made possible thanks to an inspiring
collaboration between the GSA, our long-term partners ISO and of
course the Screenmedia team.
The website design is bold, in true art school style, and this
really helps the website stand out. The website solution is
supported by 'Screenmedia Reach™', a powerful CMS built on the open
source platform Umbraco. In addition to easy site update and
maintenance, the solution helps aggregate a wealth of information
from GSA's many social and external spaces.
