Overview
The National Library of Scotland is an information treasure
trove of Scotland's knowledge, history and culture, with millions
of books, manuscripts and maps covering every subject
imaginable.
Screenmedia has recently had the pleasure of working alongside
National Library of Scotland on three new projects, the first of
which is this interactive exhibition on Darwin.
Darwin is just one of the many famous authors published by The
John Murray publishing house. Today, the John Murray Archive,
located within NLS, holds a unique collection of manuscripts,
letters and business papers. Through the archive, we get a
fascinating insight into the publication of Darwin's 'On the Origin
of Species' and many other of his famous works published by John
Murray III.
National Library of Scotland approached Screenmedia with the
brief to engage audiences with the subject of Darwin, his
revolutionary ideas and the impact his works had in shaping our
understanding of the World.
This exhibition is designed for viewing on the web and on
touch-screen and provides a unique insight into Darwin's works, his
personality and his relationship with Murray throughout his career.
Personally, we love the content, and we are very proud of the
design and functionality that we bring to such exhibits.
Try it out for yourself; we hope you enjoy!
