Working with WarkClements we produced this website to support
the 10 part TV series based on Hugh Strachan's book series The
First World War.
As a co-production with the TV production team we were able to
plan, produce and integrate content derived from the TV production
into the microsite. The production included the research and
writing of over 400 screens of content supported by archive imagery
with 100 maps and illustrations. And to add more life and colour we
produced online videos, with each of the series directors, in which
they provide their own unique insights and commentary of the series
and the big issues covered by the programmes.
Produced in 2004, the site was Channel 4's largest digital
commission of that year and remained one of the flagship microsites
on Channel4.com up until the beginning of 2010.
