Step 1: The big idea

Mobile apps offer you the chance to provide really useful new services to your customers, and can be used to underpin your business processes too. If you're still at the thinking stage talk to us sooner rather than later, we're full of ideas.

Perhaps you've already got a great concept or idea. You know what you want your app to do and you're clear that it's an app and not a mobile website you need (a common mistake). Now to get that idea out your head and into a plan.

We'll examine form & function, to prove design & technical feasibility. We'll see what works / what doesn't - always looking for innovation and differentiation. And, bearing in mind it's a competitive landscape, we'll provide estimates for potential download volume, pricing and revenue.

Step 2: The plan

Mobile apps really come into their own when you want to draw upon a phone's unique context, features and functions. If you're thinking about a mobile app it's probably because you want to benefit from things like 24/7 access on the move, GPS location, peer to peer and social networking connectivity, audio, image and video capture, perhaps micropayments.

To understand the full scope, we examine the design and technical requirements in much more detail. First up, we'll write a technical specification, where we outline the app's information and technical architecture, and document all the required functionality. In design specifications we will prove the user experience, using a clickable prototype of the application - a cost effective means of testing and refining the UX design and features.

Step 3: The design (for app envy)

We turn the screen wireframes into a gorgeous graphical user interface. OK is simply not good enough.

We advise on marketing activities to help improve app store position, encourage positive reviews and ratings, and ultimately download success.
