Our Team Has Grown Again! Posted by: Lauren on 05/11/2015

November Newbies

Just as we were all getting comfortable in the studio, Screenmedia have welcomed three new faces and made us all play musical desks again! We grabbed Diana, Keri and Dave for a quick interview in the hot seat before they got stuck into some exciting new projects…

Diana Miller – Producer

In 140 characters, what exactly do you do?

I’m currently learning about various aspects of the business including production, planning and digital marketing.

Previous experience…

After graduating from Glasgow University in 2013 with an MSc in Marketing I spent a year in a small digital agency mainly focusing on social media and SEO. After that I decided to take a year out to work as a photographer in New Zealand and now I play a graduate role within the strategy, planning and production teams at Screenmedia.

Why Screenmedia…

For me it was the chance to work on innovative, front-of-the-pack projects with cutting edge technology and some really great clients.

Oddest job…

A promotional job for Heinz where I had to push a pink wheelbarrow full of salad cream sachets down Buchanan Street shouting ‘bring on the zing, put some salad cream in your lunch!’

On the nightstand…

It’s unoriginal but either the first Game Of Thrones book or a design book.

In my spare time I like…

Attempting to ski down black runs, planning my next holiday and eating Mediterranean food with friends.

Favourite tune on the office Sonos…

Hold Tight – Goldfish. No idea who put it on but thank you!

Weirdest fact about me…

I once worked as a zoo photographer.

Keri McCool – Business Development Manager

In 140 characters, what exactly do you do?

I work on business development strategy across new business and existing accounts, helping to grow the organisation and our client base.

Previous experience…

I’ve worked in sales and marketing for over five years, focusing on driving business growth through a variety of online and offline channels. I’ve worked in the technology sector for over two years, which I love because there’s constant change and innovation. Technology is always evolving which means you have to keep evolving and learning to keep up.

Why Screenmedia…

I wanted to work with a company that encouraged learning and development, with plenty of scope for me to grow along with the business. Culture was really important for me too; I wanted to work in a place where there was a friendly atmosphere and I felt valued. As soon as I walked in the doors at Screenmedia I fell in love with the office. I was immediately made to feel comfortable and that’s a feeling that has only grown since I’ve been here. I feel like I’ve been part of the team forever even though it’s only been a month!

Oddest job…

While studying in Spain as part of my degree, I worked at an English School teaching 3 to 5 year olds at the weekends. It was exhausting work, but also very rewarding and I worked with some fantastic people.

On the nightstand…

My kindle and my iPhone.

In my spare time I like…

Going out with family and friends, travelling, reading and anything fitness related, especially obstacle courses like Tough Mudder!

Favourite tune on the office Sonos…

Anything by Chvrches.

Weirdest fact about me…

I don’t like icing…at all. It’s far too sweet!

Dave Battersby – Senior .NET Developer

In 140 characters, what exactly do you do?

I develop high performance back end solutions for the rich and unique websites we develop here.

Previous experience…

I’ve worked with several organisations before coming here included Gateway Shared Services, the Amor Group (Now Lochheed Martin) and Pulsion. I’ve covered numerous technologies including C#, ASP.NET, data integration solutions and I’ve worked with many different clients for requirements capture.

Why Screenmedia…

I was looking to step up in my field and Screenmedia have a very good reputation for both quality of work produced and for being a very good place to work.

Oddest job…

Pumping up footballs in JJB Sports.

On the nightstand…

1984 by George Orwell.

In my spare time I like…

Bodybuilding, investment, paintball and video gaming.

Favourite tune on the office Sonos…

Metal Ripper – Sabaton (admittedly I put it on).

Weirdest fact about me…

I didn’t own a television until recently.

We’re thrilled to be expanding the team and always welcome like-minded individuals to the Screenmedia family. To see where you fit in, visit our careers area.
