Screenmedia Take On the Great Scottish Run for Alzheimer Scotland Posted by: Sara on 10/08/2013
It’s been an exciting two months in the Screenmedia studio with seven of our team members training hard for the Great Scottish Run 10K race.
After fast-paced days working to deliver high-quality solutions for our clients, our designers, developers and planners have been pulling on the moisture-wicking fabrics to brave the unpredictable Glasgow weather week after week.
After all the effort they’ve put in, we were proud to see our magnificent seven ready and willing to take on the challenge, sporting custom-made Screenmedia t-shirts designed by our resident illustrator and fellow runner Brian. A mixed-ability group, they crossed the finishing line (and passed the rest of us watching on the side-lines) with impressive times between 44 minutes and just over an hour.
It wasn’t all for fun though - our team were raising money for Alzheimer Scotland, a fantastic organisation that provides crucial support and services to people with dementia and their families and friends. Thanks to over 60 donations from friends, family and well-wishers, they raised over £1500 for the cause, smashing the donation target by 32%. And there’s already talk of taking on the half marathon next year - after a much-needed rest that is!
More photos of the team can be seen on our official Instagram feed.
