We're delighted to announce the launch of the Red Squirrels of
the Highlands website.
This Forestry Commission (Scotland) project enables volunteer
surveyors, and members of the public, to capture and record
sightings to the website, and plot them on an Ordnance survey
map.
The map is building over time to plot every recorded sighting
(since 2007) in even the remotest areas of the Highlands. It's the
pefect way to record the red squirrel activty and help protect the
nationally endangered population.
We have really enjoyed working on this particular project - so
much so, that we've bought our own Red and Grey Squirrel costumes -
so watch this space!
