ICT Literacties Conference
22 March 2010 by Administrator
Last week Vickie and I attended the ICT Literacies Conference in Stirling, which was hosted by our clients at Learning Connections; the community learning and development agency within the Scottish Government. The conference, designed to address the key developments in ICT centred learning, was an excellent opportunity to hear a little more about the ways in which the local authority teams are utilising online platforms for adult literacy learning. As part of the conference, the team at Learning Connections held an interactive workshop to introduce the Work Skills Academy learning game; our most recent project with The Big Plus. This gave us an excellent chance to gauge thoughts and feedback from literacy practitioners, not only on Work Skills Academy but also on our previous project Football Academy, with both resources receiving extremely positive feedback. It was also great to meet people who use the resource regularly and to hear affirmation of the impact the materials have on engaging people in literacy and numeracy learning (oh and the delicious lunch wasn't bad either!).
