Awards

We don't approach our projects thinking, 'let's win an award', we approach them thinking 'how can we meet our clients brief '. But, when we do great work, it's really nice to be appreciated.

Our awards

  • Herald Digital Business Awards 2011

    Winner- Best Digital Supplier

This was only our second year attending the Herald Digital Business Awards, so imagine the excitement when our name was called, for the second year in a row, to receive the award for Best Digital Supplier. This award aims to assess which digital company has done most advance digital innovation in Scotland over the past 12 months, while showing clear business results.

It was great to win this once, but to win again has given our team a real confidence boost as we look towards 2012 and beyond.

Our mobile application SprintGPS has gone from strength to strength since its launch last year. It picked up yet another award for Best New Product or Service at the Digital Technology Awards, run by industry body, ScotlandIS.

  • Herald Digital Business Awards 2010

    Winner - Best Digital Supplier

The words totally chuffed don't even come close to describing how we felt when we won the Herald Digital Business Award for Best Digital Supplier.

This was a big one for us and a real result not only because of all the hard work we put into growing our mobile division throughout 2010 but also for our sustained effort in delivering high quality design and technology solutions across our specialist sectors; culture and heritage, media and entertainment, business and learning.

  • Herald Digital Business Awards 2010

Winner - Best Use of Mobile Technology

One major awards ceremony and two major wins for us - didn't we do well. Our first was for Best Use of Mobile Technology for own mobile app SprintGPS. Launched in May 2010, and available worldwide through the app store it has had over 250,000 downloads.

It was excellent to be recognised for all the hard work that went into developing the concept the application, and maintaining it as a 5 star app across each of the key territories globally.

  • eLearning Awards 2010

Bronze Winner - Excellence in the Production of Learning Content - Work Skills Academy

In November 2010 we flew down to the national eLearning Awards where we picked up an award for our development of the The Big Plus adult literacy and numeracy campaign for the Work Skills Academy.

The campaign was recognised by the panel for its excellence in design, content, interactivity, engagement and user feedback. Everybody seemed to love the resource themes and character illustration, so a special well done to Bri!

  • BAFTA (Scotland) 2009

Runner Up - Best Interactive Media for Work Skills Academy

Despite only achieving runner up at the Bafta's in 2009, we were over the moon to have Work Skills Academy recognised by Bafta Scotland for its interactivity, high quality user interface design and its ability to engage learners.

Work Skills Academy was commissioned by the Big Plus as a means of engaging users aged 16-25 with vocational skills in numeracy and literacy. It was a huge success and went on to win the national eLearning Award in 2010.

  • BIMA 2009

Nomination - Best Offline Kiosk Installation for Great Glen House

A runner up at the prestigious British Interactive Media Association Awards, competing against the likes of AKQA, is no mean feat.

We all have favourites, and this piece of work, Great Glen House for Scottish Natural Heritage, is definitely one of ours. Designed for touch and cd-rom, this rich media video, audio and animation extravaganza tells the story of Great Glen House, Scottish Natural Heritage's sustainable HQ in Inverness. It's narrated and presented by our favourite broadcaster, Kirsty Wark.

  • BAFTA (Scotland) 2008

Runner Up - Best Interactive Media for Slabovia.tv

Ah well, if you're going to be pipped to the BAFTA post, it's as well for Slabovia TV to lose out to such worthy winners as the team at Rockstar Games who produced Grand Theft Auto IV.

If you are looking for rich GUI design, it doesn't come any better than this timeless, lovingly crafted social networking website for Tern Television and Channel 4. It's a real classic and home to the People's Republic of Slabovia, an emerging superpower run by the General and his son. Enjoy.

  • Glasgow Business Awards 2007

Winner - Best Performing Small Business

Even after three years, our potential was evident. :) It was great to receive such early recognition - and a real confidence booster - from our local business community, and even more surprising to see Jon scrub up this well in a suit!

  • Bafta (Scotland) 2006

Winner - Best Interactive Media for My Sust House

Screenmedia was delighted to win a Bafta for My Sust House; a series of interactive games, designed to teach children about sustainable living.

Web based games are difficult; very few clients have either the ambition, or the budgets, to create sophisticated games. Sust @ the Lighthouse were different though - encouraging us to really break the mould. Thankfully, all the extra effort and long hours really paid off.
